Volunteers Needed for Eurofest Swiss Booth

Hi All,

Barbara Wirsching is now responsible for recruiting volunteers to man the Swiss booth at the Eurofest.  She asked me to send out a reminder of the need for help:

The booth is an important way to communicate information about Switzerland and its traditions.

The Eurofest Swiss booth needs volunteers for 2- to 3-hour shifts from 11:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for both May 31st and June 1st.  Two people are needed for each shift.

The tasks include distributing materials, stamping the Eurofest children's passport, etc.

Wearing Swiss Tracht or Choetili would be appreciated.

I believe that presence at the display booth it is a small contribution to proudly represent Switzerland and its traditions.  Please help out.

You can contact Barbara at bwirsching@shaw.ca or reply to me.

Message from our President

Hi, Everyone,
  We are getting really close to our concert.  I think we really need to buckle down and practice our material at home. It will be a waste of the choir's and audience's time and money if we sing off key or don't know the words.
   When Marie-Louise was President, we all agreed to a "NO TALKING DURING PRACTICE" rule.  Could we please honour that,  If we are talking, we will not be able to hear an instruction or perhaps not be able to focus as the conductor would like. We can still direct Important comments to the whole choir.

    I believe we all are happy to see one another.  If we need time maybe we can stay past 9:30 to chat; we do not need to vacate the room until 10:00, right?
    Another reminder from Jacques Goldschmidt came ,  The European Festival needs our # of choir members PLUS he wants to know "WHO WILL MAN THE SWISS TENT"  It won't be me, I will do 4 hours with Rolf on Saturday but I have no more time
Ciao for now
See you all Thursday

May 8th's rehearsal

Hi All,

Rolf asked me to remind everyone that we will have an extended, sandwiched practice (low voices, everyone, high voices) this Thursday, May 8th:
  • Tenors and basses please arrive punctually at 7 PM to practice the song for "men" only; i.e., "In die bluehende Welt", which is in the Tacoma Grand Concert Song Book;
  • Entire mixed choir will practice from 7:30 pm-9 pm;
  • From 9 pm - 9:30 pm, sopranos and altos will practice alone, concentrating on the song for women only; i.e., "Mutter Segen" in Tacoma Grand Concert Song Book.
